Human SCN1A gene
SCN1A, encoding Nav1.1, is located on the long (q) arm of human chromosome 2 at position 24.3 (2q24.3). More precisely, the SCN1A gene is located from base pair 165,989,159 to base pair 166,149,131 on chromosome 2, clustering with four other sodium channel genes SCN2A, SCN3A, SCN7A and SCN9A, which encode Nav1.2, Nav1.3, Nax, and Nav1.7, respectively. SCN1A mRNA has 26 exons spanning approximately 100 kb of genomic sequence, which (shown in red) encode full-length adult Nav1.1.
